Terms of Use & Disclaimer

Last updated: 29 August 2026

These terms govern your use of Lisbon Tourism Guide (www.lisbontourism.org). By using the site you accept them. If you don’t, please don’t use the site.

Travel information disclaimer

This is the part that matters most, so it comes first. Everything on this site is published in good faith and checked against primary sources before it goes live, but travel information goes out of date. Prices rise. Museums close for restoration. Timetables change with the season. A restaurant that was excellent in spring can be under new ownership by autumn.

Confirm anything your trip depends on directly with the operator or venue before you rely on it — opening hours, ticket prices, departure times, closures, entry requirements. Where we can, we link to the official source so you can check in one click. We give no warranty that the content is complete, current or error-free, and we accept no liability for loss, cost, missed connections, disappointment or inconvenience arising from acting on it.

Not professional advice

Nothing here is legal, financial, medical, immigration or insurance advice. Guidance about visas, residency, short-term rental regulation, taxes, health precautions or travel insurance is general background written for travellers, not advice for your circumstances. Consult a qualified professional or the relevant official authority for anything that carries consequences.

Safety information — about neighbourhoods, pickpocketing, scams or nightlife — reflects our understanding at the time of writing and is no substitute for your own judgement or your government’s current travel advice.

Independence and how we’re funded

Lisbon Tourism Guide is an independent publication and is not affiliated with Turismo de Lisboa, Visit Portugal, the Câmara Municipal de Lisboa or any tourism authority, transport operator or venue mentioned on the site. Businesses cannot pay to be recommended, and we don’t accept sponsored posts or paid links.

The site is funded by advertising. Ads are supplied by third-party networks and identified as advertising where they appear. We don’t choose or endorse the individual ads that are shown, and an advertisement is not a recommendation. Any dealing you have with an advertiser is between you and them.

Links to third-party sites

We link to transport operators, museums, official bodies and other external sites for your convenience. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content, availability, accuracy or practices. A link is not an endorsement, and their terms and privacy policies apply once you leave this site.

Intellectual property

The text, structure and original design of this site are our copyright. You’re welcome to quote a short extract in an article, forum post or review as long as you attribute it and link to the page you took it from. You may not republish guides in whole or in substantial part, rewrite them for another site, or reproduce them for commercial purposes without written permission — ask us through the contact page.

Photographs are used under the licences of their sources, principally stock libraries that grant free commercial use. Those licences do not transfer to you: if you want to reuse an image, obtain it from the original source under its own terms. Third-party names, logos and trade marks appearing on the site belong to their owners and are used descriptively.

Acceptable use

Please don’t scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for other readers, attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, introduce malicious code, or use it for anything unlawful. Automated bulk copying of our content for republication or for training commercial models is not permitted.

Availability

We aim to keep the site up but don’t guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend, or withdraw any part of it, including individual guides, without notice.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here affects the statutory rights you have as a consumer.

Corrections

If something on the site is wrong, tell us. We investigate reader corrections and update the guide, and we’d far rather hear about an error than leave it standing. Use the contact page.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the current version, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms. How we handle personal information is set out separately in our privacy policy.
